Undara National Park contains the remains of one of the earth’s longest flows of lava originating from a single volcano. Caves within this lava tube are fertile pockets in which rainforest plant and many animal species are found. The park is found on the western slopes of the McBride Plateau, and is composed of open woodlands and savanna, with pockets of semi-evergreen vine thicket in the sheltered entrances to some of the lava caves.
