Warra Tall Eucalypt site was established as a Long-term Ecological Research site in 1998. Warra is dominated by Eucalyptus obliqua forest and is the focus of multi-disciplinary research into the ecological processes of these unique ecosystems. Warra has some of the tallest and largest flowering forests on Earth, and is home to a range of Southern Hemisphere rainforest plants, Tasmanian Devils, Platypus, Echidna, Cockatoos, and Wallabies. The site has experienced significant fires in recent years. The establishment of acoustic sensors in these systems will provide a record for post-fire recovery.
